Consumed by Love

We live in a technological generation. We want quick results. As a result, many in the church have turned to the marketing industry to promote God’s kingdom. The kingdom of God, however, cannot be built on slick publicity. Neither can it be built on any other form of human ingenuity. The kingdom of God will only be built by those who have the mark of the King upon their lives—the mark from having been in His presence.

Many consider waiting to be time consuming and nonproductive. A friend once said to me, “I know a man who does not have time to develop relationships with people. He doesn’t win others to Christ. He is always in his prayer closet.” I thought about my friend’s statement, and I realized the impossibility of it. When one has been with God, he will encounter the character and nature of God. He will encounter a God that loves man. The man or woman of prayer will be consumed by that love. The love of God will motivate the believer to action.

Alpha and Omega, how I long to have the mark of King Jesus upon my life because I have continually been in His Presence.  May I release my heart into Your loving care rather than depending upon my own ideas and witty thoughts.  How I desire to not only encounter You in the midst of prayer, but to live a life that characterizes all that You are, consumed by Ultimate Love.

Prayer Points

Praise Jesus Christ for his grace and beauty. Thank God for reproducing the beauty of Christ’s character in you. Confess anything in your life which is displeasing to God. Commit yourself to pleasing him in every way. Ask God to help you live a life worthy of the Lord, to please him in everything you do, and to bear fruit in every good work (Col. 1:10).

Pray that all God’s people will be able to stand against the principalities, powers, and the world rulers of darkness that seek to control the lives and destinies of people. Pray that they may put on the whole armor of God and may pray in the Spirit with all kinds of prayers and requests (Eph. 6:10-18).
