Recently, I was reading Hebrews and allowing it to serve as my outline or framework for intimate prayer, seeking the Lord. I came upon the “draw me” phrase several times. You can look up these three occasions in Hebrews 4:14-16, 7:19-28 and 10:19-26, where we are called to: (1) draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, (2) draw near to God through Christ, and (3) draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith. As I read and pondered these passages and the whole book of Hebrews, I noticed that they are in the context of our Lord Jesus Christ as our High Priest. Hebrews 7:25 indicates the Lord always lives to make intercession for us. His intercession, at the Father’s right hand, for me and in me is heard by my heavenly Father.
The closer I draw near to God, the more He is able to reveal and I am able to receive His answers and know His will. The more I meditate upon God’s Word, pondering and praying the Word in passionate prayer, the more God’s Word becomes alive in me and takes deep root into my inner being. I begin to internalize and personalize God’s ways and His thoughts for my heart pilgrimage and journey. The work of the Holy Spirit in and through me, through God’s Word, enables me to know and understand both the ways of God and the will of God.
Father, draw me near to Your throne of grace with confidence through Christ and place in me a sincere heart that longs to come to You in full assurance of faith! Help me to recognize Jesus as my High Priest and to continually remember that He sits at your right hand, interceding for me. Give me a deep desire to meditate on Your Word day and night so that it comes alive in me and finds its expression in my life in fruitful ways!

Praise the One who sits upon his throne, supreme in power and authority. Give thanks that the Almighty is your Father in Jesus Christ. Confess your own hardness of heart and disobedience against God’s authority over you. Commit yourself to God so that you “do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires” (Rom. 6:12). Ask God to help you endure, so that you may reign with Christ (2 Tim. 2:12).
At the name of Jesus, every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Phil. 2:10-11). Pray that your unsaved friends will bend their knees to Jesus now and confess him as Lord.
