O Lord, I have heard Your speech and was afraid; O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy. (Habakkuk 3:2)
Has there ever been a time in your life that you wanted more of God; yet you did not know how to move in that area? Has there ever been a time in your life, or the life of your church family, that you desired more from God, but you did not know what to do to see this happen? I have been in that situation on more than one occasion. I know many others who have been there as well. The question is: What do you do when you don’t know what to do? The answer comes by knowing what you specifically desire.
The thing I desire when I want more of God is simply this: I long for the presence of God to be real and manifest in my life. I desire a conscious awareness of God moving in my life and in my church. I desire to hear God speaking and giving me revelation, insight, and praying with fire understanding. I desire God. In those times, I have asked God for revival and prayed for Him to release the wind of His Holy Spirit to blow fresh on me. Revival really does begin in one person, and then it can spread its wings and fly throughout an entire church and community to the glory of God. It always starts with one. One who will cry out. One who will respond in obedience. One who will wait upon the Lord. Oh, the power of one.
Father, I long for Your presence to be real and manifest in my life! I desire a conscious awareness that You are moving in my life and in my church. I desire to hear You speaking and giving me revelation, insight and the fire of understanding! Revive me! Release the wind of Your Holy Spirit to blow in fresh ways upon my life! Help me to respond obediently to all that You will reveal to me through Spirit and the truth of Your holy word! Begin a new work in me that will bring You honor and glory!

Praise God that he knows everything in every age. Give thanks that he knows you by name and that you matter to him. Confess any attempt to conceal things from God. Commit yourself to openness and honesty before God. Invite him to search your heart and life (Ps. 139:23-24). Ask to be protected from the evil one and kept from a spirit of worldliness.
Since faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Rom. 10:15-17), pray that your unsaved friends, neighbors, and relatives will hear the Word and respond in faith.
