For a little while your people possessed your holy place, but now our enemies have trampled down your sanctuary. We are yours from of old; but you have not ruled over them, they have not been called by your name. Isaiah 63:18-19
The consequences of Judah’s rebellion against God still faced them. Even their place of worship had been defiled by their enemies. That which was their spiritual birthright had been stolen from them because of their continued sin and rebellion. Sin, especially sin apart from repentance, brings serious consequences.
Has anything been stolen from you because of your sin? Certainly God’s Word teaches us that Jesus has given us His peace. Is your life marked by peace, or has it been stolen from you because of the sin of worry and anxiety? There are many things that God has given to His people, but because we have wandered away from Him, they have been lost to us. It is time to put a stop to the defilement of God’s holy place. As we, His people, return to Him in repentance and humility, we will see a restoration of the purposes of God for His people.
Lord, we have in so many ways been a plundered people. Through our sins, we have allowed the walls of our families, churches and nations to be torn down and the enemy has come in like a flood. Now Lord, as we turn back to You in repentance and humility, we ask You to rebuild the walls of protection, provision and purpose. Restore to us a double portion of the years the locust has eaten. Empower Your people to rise up in Your strength and provision to accomplish what You have called us to do!

Praise God, who is the great physician. Thank him for healing broken hearts. Confess those times when you failed to help those who sought to experience the Savior’s healing touch. Commit to serving God by serving them. Ask God to reveal names of individuals who suffer from pain, rejection, and spiritual death.
Pray that those experiencing pain will be moved to seek the healing power of the one who suffered pain, rejection, and brokenness for all humankind.
