Life as a Constant Prayer

Face To The Floor“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.  The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20).

What would it be like to have every moment filled with living out the amazing truth that He is in me and I am in Him? My whole life would be a constant prayer for I would be in continual communion with the One I love, and who loves me more than I can ever comprehend.  The issue, or course, is…how to do this in a practical way in my daily living! To live my life as a continual prayer demands a battle with my flesh.

I have heard of people who have set alarms to draw themselves back into awareness of the Presence of God…and that’s a good idea…but I have the Holy Spirit to remind me of all things – so I have begun to ask Him to infuse me with continual awareness!  I know this is possible because I am not in the realm of the flesh, but in the realm of the Spirit…and the Spirit lives in me: “You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you…” (Romans 8:9a)

Holy Spirit, my heart is set upon continually seeking the face of the Father! I’m so grateful for Your help in the daily battle with my flesh, and for Your gentle reminders that keep me from being sucked into wordly things. Help me to live by faith with the continual knowledge of Christ living in me so that I might bring glory to God with every word, thought and action.

Prayer Point

Praise God for the depth of the riches of his wisdom and knowledge (Rom.11:33). Give thanks that “from him and through him and to him are all things” (11:36). Confess times of thinking that God owes you favors or explanations (11:35). Commit yourself to thinking deeply about God until you come to the end of your ability to understand. Ask God to help you reach that point with wonder and amazement rather than doubt or cynicism (11:33-36).

Pray that God will help all believers to be students of his ways with eyes to see and minds to understand more of his caring control. Ask that God’s kingdom will soon come in fullness.
