In his letter to the church at Colosse, Paul expressed his gratitude for these believers, by sharing what he was telling God about them: We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all the saints. (Colossians 1:3-4)
We need each other in the body of Christ. And we need to bless others who demonstrate the love and passion of Jesus in their lives. We also need to thank God continually for people who live out their faith. What believers stand out in your life as those who are modeling their faith well? Thank God for them!
Father, I thank You for ______________ and __________________, who have given of themselves so sacrificially. Thank You for the gifts You gave to them. Thank You for the love they have for You and Your church that drove them to sacrifice. Thank You for their sweet spirits and servant’s hearts that could only come through Your Holy Spirit’s enablement. I bless You, Father, for bringing these precious saints into my life to model Your love for me. Father, I pray that You would shower them with a special blessing this week to let them know of Your pleasure. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Glorify God as the ruler over events both great and small, who knows not only the fate of nations but also the number of hairs on your head (Lk. 12:6-7). Thank God for hearing your prayers. Confess your struggles in prayer to God, and ask for his help and grace in this area (Heb. 4:14-16). Commit yourself to greater discipline in prayer for the needs of others. Ask God to give you wisdom as you pray for specific needs.
Pray for Christian churches around the world, that they may be known not as “houses of activity” but as “houses of prayer” (Mt. 21:13).
