“Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.” (John 17:17)
When we pray to be set apart, we need our prayers to match up with Jesus’ desire and purpose for us. He has sent us into the world. That doesn’t mean that every single one of us will embark upon a cross-cultural mission (though many will and should). It does mean that Jesus has sent each and every one of us into this world to carry His life and his light. This is the primary purpose of God for our lives.
“May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it” (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24).
It is amazing to me Lord, that you have chosen me to be a vessel to take your Word and your Life to this world. Set me apart for this service. Help me live a consistent Christian life that speaks strongly to those around me.

Praise God for his jealousy toward you (Zech. 8:1-3; Ex. 20:5-6) that roots out rivals for your love or unfaithfulness on your part. Thank God for such love that will not let you go. Confess times at which you have not given God your undivided love and allegiance. Commit yourself to being exclusively devoted to him. Ask God to give you an undivided heart and life for him.
Pray that God’s Spirit will convince your neighbors or coworkers that his love is for them. Ask him to use you in the process, showing you specific ways to put love into action.
