My perspective about God, the Bible and prayer determines my practice of prayer. The idea that the Creator of the universe desires to communicate with me and have fellowship with Him, gives me more impetus to be in passionate prayer. It is important to know and understand God’s attributes of who God is, as it gives me a greater awareness and confidence in the Lord God Almighty. The Bible states that the true and living Lord God Almighty is the God Who was, Who is and Who is to come (Rev. 4:8). He is, then, the Eternal One, the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and End, the First and Last (22:13).
With this in mind, I have realized how important it is to read, study, ponder and pray the whole Bible. There, I learn much of how God works and sees through eternity, in a moment. In Ecclesiastes 3:11, it states, “He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.” It behooves me to view life, with my passion for God through passionate prayer, having eternity in my heart, by looking in all directions— upward, backward, and forward for the current—the now of daily-ness.
This daily-ness of present life, with eternity in my heart, gives me perspective, for a moment by moment relationship with God. Jesus instructed His disciples this way, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me” (Mt. 16:24). This daily denying of self requires my surrender to the Lord, realizing His plans and His will for me are to be mine. This, too, requires me to be consecrated unto the Lord, wholly dedicated and devoted to the Lord, with purity of heart and humility of life.
Alpha and Omega, You have indeed made everything beautiful in its time and placed eternity in my heart! Yet, I am still so full of self! Help me to have a daily desire to die to that self so that You will live more fully in me! Show me how to dedicate myself to You each day with complete sincerity and purity of heart.

Praise God, who is perfect in beauty and holiness (Ps. 50:2). Thank him for making everything beautiful in its time (Eccl. 3:11), including your own life. Confess those times during this past week when your words or actions did not reflect to others the beauty of Christ. Commit yourself to being transformed into his likeness (2 Cor. 3:18). Ask God daily to change the ugliness of sin in your life to his loveliness.
Ask God to spread the fragrance of the knowledge of God through you to the people you meet this week (2 Cor. 2:14-16).
